About
Good Design
A number of researches conducted in Australia and worldwide through the past few decades shows that a large proportion of I.T. projects fail to deliver the expected outcome. Two of the main common reasons are that usually there is no clear agreement about what the expected outcome really is and also there is not enough resources spent on planning and designing. At the Information Ecology Labs we will always have that in mind.
No website is the same and no software is just a new version of an existing one. When you discuss your project with us, some of the first questions you will hear from us are why are you doing this and what exactly are you trying to achieve. Using that information we will invest our time to design and present you a specific plan created to match your business needs. We will not sell you a template that may be good for us, but is not good for you.
We have over ten years of experience inside the I.T. Industry. We have witnessed large scale projects go bad and small ideas turning into huge solutions. Where we will draw our line to reach positive outcomes to all our clients is on planning and analysis to generate good design. Once we have the mock-up or prototype of your project and a detailed plan of action, the execution will be smooth and results will be around the corner.
Solid Technology
Probably the main characteristic of the Information Technology industry is how fast it has developed and how fast it is still reinventing itself. The standard practices for web and software development of today may be hardly remembered in five years time. The challenge for the provider is, therefore, to not get stuck in one way of doing things but also to not rush too quickly into unproven technology just to be able to adopt a trendy new buzzword or the acronym of the moment. Our offer to our clients is that: use of proven and solid technology in a creative and innovative way.
We have developed software on Visual Basic for Windows 3.11 over ten years ago. We have created a text-only website for Netscape 1.0 an uploaded it through a dial-up connection. These days, for a dynamic and modern website, we rely on XHTML with semantic markup following the W3C standards and extended use of CSS. If needed, we will add Flash, JavaScript or .NET to the mix to increase interactivity and bring a range of new design possibilities.
To give every web project a better value for money, we will offer all our clients a customized version of our CMS system. Created on open source technologies PHP and MySQL, our flexible content manager is the right choice for easy to maintain sites that will last longer and allow to better modifications and improvements in future when necessary.
Friendly Service
A good design and a solid technology will be of no value for you if your experience using it and dealing with is horrible. Another important fact about I.T. projects is that the end user normally will never get to know the majority of resources available for him, opting instead to use only a small amount of tools to achieve its results. The Information Ecology Labs is all about giving you what you need, the way you want it. We aim to translate all this technical language into your language and to create an overall experience with no hassle or stress for you, your employees, your company and your clients.
We are here to make you and your company get a better deal from the digital revolution or, in other words, use a handful of digital solutions to be more productive. After your first point of contact through the web, e-mail or telephone, we will be happy to book an appointment and come to you to discuss your needs personally at no cost and no compromise at all.
Luis has a long-term experience with the I.T. Industry, having acted as a programmer, consultant, web developer and I.T. Journalist in the past. He is always anxious to hear about clients particular needs and to discuss how to find the ideal solution for them. Having managed her own business for years before, Samantha knows how to identify a company profile and to offer valuable input from a non-technical perspective on how a website or specific tool can help the business to reach its clients and goals or to deliver its products and services.
